The Step Up Coalition is sponsoring multiple events to support relative caregivers and to shed light on the unique issues facing our kinship foster families..
First, we are hosting a five-part webinar series that will explore the struggles and inequalities our kinship caregivers face and the opportunities and challenges to providing the support, assistance and services needed to empower these caregivers to do the work we depend on them to do. The topics that will be discussed in these webinars include:
-Understanding the Plight of Kinship Caregivers
-Recruiting, Retaining and Supporting Kinship Caregivers
-Continuum of Care Reform and What it Means for Kinship Families
-Probation Youth and Kinship Care
Each series will consist of a panel of experts in the respective fields as well as relative caregivers, who can give a first-hand experience of what they have gone through and the changes they wish to see in how our system supports families.
The first webinar is being held on September 16 from 10a.m. -12 p.m. Register>
